Fun with clotheslines and raindrops

The following photos were taken the other morning, just playing around. Be prepared for more water droplet photos this year... they are really fun to see what you can get reflected through the drops.

See the tree in the one on the far right? I particularly like this one. It's the hook of my clothesline, with spiderwebs catching the drops.

I loved how these two seemed to have the droplets suspended in midair.

Any of you take any cool photos lately?

Depth of Field Photos

Photobucket

You capture's theme this week is depth of field... one thing I LOVE to play around with! Basically depth of field is the amount of the photo that is in focus. A photo of scenery will generally have a lot of the photo in focus, while other photos only have a little bit while the rest is blurry.

As you can see by the cardinal above, it adds depth to the photo.

Here, the focus is in the back... behind other branches.

This was a very narrow telescope at a playground... I focused on Mercy's eye looking through it. Generally the photo was not what I hoped, but I did get her eye in focus while the rest is blurry.

This photo has been posted before, but I just LOVE the narrow depth of field in it... it's one of my favorite photos, technically.

AMENDED: After playing with these photos I downloaded the photos from my camera and found some more... check them out here.

Head over to You Capture to see what other photos are taken!

Family Discipleship...

The Bible Bee has re-organized itself this year and is going to be SO neat! Their theme this year is: Family Discipleship... one verse at a time.

They have reduced the number of verses to a more manageable size, and also added a book to help aid in the studying of the Book of the Bible we are going to be quizzed about. They have the normal three competitive categories, but also have added a less competitive "Timothy Track". Another wonderful addition is the "Supportive Sibling" track... children too young to be in the real competition (like my Nate who is 5) are also getting a study book they can do with the family.

All in all, I think that the changes they made this year are WONDERFUL, and that everyone should participate. Go check it out at the Bible Bee website.
